A simple watch list helps a shipper or researcher avoid scanning every possible freight source.
Start with the mode: highway, port, rail or air cargo. Then add the geography: corridor, gateway, airport, state or border crossing. Finally add the time-sensitive signals that could affect the move.
For highway freight, weather and fuel may be the first checks. For air cargo, airport observations and severe weather matter. For port freight, gateway context and inland connections are often the starting point.
The goal is not to predict every problem. It is to know which public signals deserve attention before a shipment or research question moves forward.
