How to use an interactive freight map

A simple method for comparing corridors, ports and air-cargo nodes on one national view.

An interactive freight map works best when it answers the first location question: which corridor, gateway or air-cargo node is involved?

Fixed layers such as interstates, ports and cargo airports give structure. Time-sensitive layers, such as weather alerts, add current context when they are available.

Start with a labeled corridor, gateway or cargo airport, then open its detail page and source link for additional context.

Avoid false precision when reading a map layer. A corridor and nearby signal can explain where to look next, but they do not show that a specific load is being tracked.
